Working on my Woman Cave + $100 giveaway (Part One!) / by Erin Baynham

I call my cycle Voldermort. It’s awful. I’d like to say I can just lie in bed and wrap myself around a pillow, but usually, I don’t. To keep my mind off it, I’m working on my “woman cave”. This room is my blog headquarters, if you will. It’s where I store all of my makeup, papers, books, all kinds of stuff. It’s also where I shoot my Youtube videos and create my podcasts. Every bit of equipment that I own is jammed into this room. I’m only showing one wall today because I can’t even comprehend cleaning the entire room. Just know that there is way more clutter around here.stayfree1 I’m running out of excuses on why the room is as messy as it is. When I moved in last Fall, we were planning for our wedding. By March, the wedding was over and we were settling in. But now that it’s mid-June, I just need to dive in, clean up and decorate. Ultimately, I’d like to paint, add shelving, and mount a few photos. In the mean time, I’ll just give myself some room to work! So here’s the chaos. There are products that I used to get ready this morning, some products I reviewed earlier, and general desk messiness. stayfreecoffee Here’s a little narcotic thing about me. Before I start any “Work”, I always have to have a beverage. 98.9% of the time, it’s an iced coffee. I tend to be a little snobby about my coffee, so I have to take the time to cold brew it and get that great coffee shop taste. stayfree3 Fifteen minutes later, my coffee is ready, my music is on, I changed into my roomy tank and pajama shorts--now it’s time to work. Let me preface this by saying that I’ve had some over the counter medication to ease the cramps. Take a sip of coffee every two minutes because you’re hot, uncomfortable and ready to chill.

After about 15 minutes of concentrated energy, this side of the room is as good as it’s going to get! There are a few obvious things that made a difference. I moved my camera, lenses and other photography equipment to a drawer. My pens and pencils are in one of my candle boxes. Boxes were broken down and put in the recycle bin. All makeup products get organized in their corresponding drawers. My podcasting microphone and back light are still out, but hey, it’ll do. Now it’s time to pull out my chair, turn on Netflix or edit some posts and hang out! Or maybe, If I’m gutsy enough, I’ll move on and work on wall number two. Either way I feel relaxed and accomplished.
